Upper Miocene To Lower Pliocene Mehrten Formation, California

An undescribed (in the scientific literature) tapir jaw from the upper Miocene to lower Pliocene Mehrten Formation, approximately 10 to five million years old. The specimen came from a locality discovered on private property in 2020 in the vicinity of Camanche Reservoir, western foothills of the Sierra Nevada, California.
